Implant-Supported Dentures in Memphis, TN

Removable dentures, both complete and partial, use messy adhesives to remain in place, but implant-supported dentures are connected to titanium posts in your jaw so they are secure and stable. This means that the dentures won't slip, even when eating or speaking. With more support and security, patients with implant dentures can feel confident that their dentures will stay in their mouths. Implanted dentures look attractive and natural and can be used just like your natural teeth. At Sexton Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Germantown, Arlington, and Memphis, TN patients can get implanted dentures that feel comfortable and look natural. Get more information on implant-supported dentures and if they are right for you. Schedule a consultation with Drs. Sexton, Weiskopf, or Russ today.

Prior to any treatment, one of our doctors will complete a thorough exam, including digital imaging, to assess the strength of your gums and jawbone. If the gums or jawbone are too weak to securely hold the dental implants, then a gum and/or bone graft surgery can be needed. Once the grafted area is strengthened, you can have implant surgery.

You will be given a local anesthetic to numb your mouth before the procedure. Other sedation options may be considered if the procedure will be lengthy or if it helps you feel more comfortable. An incision will be made in your gums, and posts will be inserted into the jawbone. For dentures, four or more implants are usually used per arch. The incisions in the gums will be closed, with the upper portion of the implant visible above the gums. The posts will be covered with a temporary denture as they heal in the next 4 – 6 months. The implants will integrate with your jawbone and gums. As soon as the dental implants are healed, your custom-made dentures can be attached to the posts and adjusted for a secure fit.

Dr. Weiskopf is a great surgeon and a very kind person. I had a molar extraction. He did a fantastic job. He knows what he is doing. I would recommend him to anyone for his expertise. In addition, his entire office staff is excellent, kind, patient, helpful. It makes the whole experience very pleasant, takes away the stress. Thank you, Dr. Weiskopf.

Dr. Weiskopf removed my wisdom teeth and 1 additional molar yesterday. I have horrible experiences with dentists over the past 40+years! This man is amazing. His team is incredible and truly 1 of a kind. I will forever be grateful for their kindness, professionalism and painless care.

Five star service from the beginning of my relationship to the present time. Staff alone are five stars. I have never seen a friendlier or kinder staff. Dr Weiskopf is super wonderful; friendly, informative and open to any and all questions. Being a professor at the University of Tennessee dental college, is an added bonus for his patients. He can give a mini CE on whatever dental topic you are interested in seeking information. Can you tell that I am thrilled to have found such a great oral surgeon? And I am a picky person. I would recommend Dr. Weiskopf to anyone who needs an experienced oral surgeon with great bedside manner and follow up. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and it was such a pleasant experience. I was terrified but the doctor and staff gave me a great sense of ease. The office was very clean and the location was perfect. 10/10.
